Meaning in English

Victory to Mother Amba, the fair Gauri, whom Vishnu, Brahma and Shiva contemplate day and night. The verses picture her golden form in red garments, lion-mounted, holding sword and skull-bowl, jewelled and radiant as a million moons and suns. They recall her slaying of Shumbha and Nishumbha, Mahishasura, Chanda and Munda, Raktabija and Madhu-Kaitabha; she is Brahmani, Rudrani and Kamala, mother of the world, remover of her devotees' sorrow, and whoever sings her aarti gains peace and plenty.
