Meaning in English
Sing, O mind, of the compassionate Ramachandra who removes the terrible fear of worldly existence, whose eyes, face, hands and feet are like the fresh, reddish lotus. His beauty surpasses countless Kamadevas, dark and lovely as a new blue lotus, his yellow robe shining like lightning; the noble husband of Janaki, friend of the humble, sun among men, destroyer of the demon race, delight of the Raghus and son of Dasharatha. Tulsidas prays that this joy of Shiva, Shesha and the sages come to dwell in the lotus of his heart and crush the host of foes such as desire.
