About this chant
Called the Dvadasakshara, the twelve-syllable mantra, this is a central invocation of Vishnu as Vasudeva, the indwelling divine. It appears in the Bhagavata tradition and is chanted for surrender and steady remembrance. Ekadashi and other Vaishnava observances are held as especially fitting occasions.
